Actual, on the radio net

“Actual” means the commander in person, not a radio operator speaking for them.

In Callsign Actual, that’s you.

Features

Command the modern battlefield.

The classic loop of harvest, build, train and fight, with present-day hardware on both sides.

The game's interface showing a Motor Pool selected and its recruit panel.
Motor Pool / Recruit

Base building

Build. Supply. Fight.

Supply Trucks haul from caches to your Command Center. Power Plants keep production and defences running. Climb from Barracks to Motor Pool to Helipad and the Tactical Operations Center, then put it all into the field.

Tanks and infantry trade fire across a roundabout, muzzle flashes lighting the grass.
Crossroads / Contact

Factions

Two armies. Two ways to win.

The Task Force fields guided missiles, a heavy main battle tank and an attack helicopter. OPFOR answers with cheaper infantry, quick-loading tanks, rocket artillery and a gunship that does two jobs. Different bases, different defences, different voices on the radio.

A shell bursts among desert-camouflaged tanks on a forest track as a gunship passes overhead.
Timberland / Fire mission

Support powers

Call in the heavy stuff.

Send a UAV over ground you've never seen. Drop an artillery barrage on a crowd, or an air strike on a structure; OPFOR fires rocket salvos and Lancet loitering munitions instead. Every aircraft can be shot down, so air defence matters.

A gunship hovers by a rocky escarpment as tanks fight on the grassland beyond.
Highlands / Escarpment

Terrain

Ground that fights back.

High ground shoots and sees further. Cliffs funnel attacks onto ramps. Tree lines hide what’s behind them. You start knowing nothing about where the enemy is: scout, or be found.

The game's interface: a selected group of tanks and infantry, minimap, build menu and command buttons.

Controls

Command from the couch.

Full controller support with a virtual cursor and a control-group wheel, rebindable keys on keyboard, and an interface that scales up on handhelds like the Steam Deck. Save anywhere and pick it up later.

Factions

Task Force or OPFOR.

Two armies with their own units, defences, base architecture and voices. On the battlefield, blue is your side and red is the enemy.

Task Force

Expeditionary and high-tech. Prefabricated halls on concrete pads, guided anti-tank missiles, a 120mm main battle tank, and helicopters split between attack and transport.

Support powers
UAV Recon, Artillery Barrage, Air Strike, Supply Drop

English
A Task Force base of camouflaged halls, a command post and helipad in a forest clearing.

  • IFV

Wheeled fighting vehicle with a 30mm autocannon. Carries five infantry.

  • Main Battle Tank

OPFOR

Dug in and hard-hitting. A base under camouflage netting and earth banks, cheap infantry in numbers, quick-loading tanks, rocket artillery and a gunship that carries troops.

Support powers
UAV Recon, Rocket Barrage, Lancet Strike, Supply Drop
Radio
Russian
An OPFOR base of tents, earth-banked shelters and camouflage netting.

Battlefields

Four battlefields.

Every map has fog of war. You start knowing nothing about where the enemy is.

  • Overhead view of Crossroads, a town of winding roads around a central roundabout.

    Town

    Crossroads

An open town of winding roads and a market green, with a cliff-ringed hill on each flank. Four start sites; your opponent could be in any corner.

  • Overhead view of Timberland, dense forest cut by gravel tracks around a hamlet.

    Deep forest

    Timberland

Deep forest that blocks movement and sight, cut by logging tracks and firebreaks. Scouting matters, and armies meet at short range.

  • Overhead view of Highlands, grassy terraces ringed by rocky cliffs.

    Terraced high ground

    Highlands

Terraced high country. Each base sits on a cliff-ringed shelf, with the Crown, a summit rich in supplies, between them.

  • Overhead view of Ironworks, works halls, storage tanks and a grid of avenues.

    Industrial estate

    Ironworks

An industrial estate of works halls, a foundry, a tank farm and a container terminal on a grid of avenues and alleys.
